Brand New Day!

It is a beautiful, bright, sunny day here in Central New York! Days like these make me wish I could capture the sunshine and save it for those long, dreary winter days. The changing leaves this year are brilliant...much more so than last autumn.

Caitlin, my 7 year old and I are home from church this morning feeling under the weather. On a whim, I decided to create this new blog...and am very excited about it! I hope to post a few times a week if not more, with photos of my children, fiber I'm working with, handspun yarn I've created, knit & crochet items in progress and God's beautiful creation!

Today is our day of rest and that's what I intend to do! Yesterday we worked outside, trimming all the plants back, digging up the Dahlia tubers and storing them in shavings for the winter, raking and washing out the flowerpots. It was a very good day of work. So now I can focus on my fiber & yarn crafts!

For those who don't know me, I LOVE fibers and yarn!! I have the equipment necessary to wash, dye and blend my own fibers and an Ashford Kiwi spinning wheel to create handspun yarn. And knitting and crocheting my own handspun is a wonderful treat! Here is a knit hat using handspun Shetland wool from a local farm...made for Sean. I love this color and look forward to working with more of this fiber!!

The yarn below is so lovely...I really enjoyed spinning it up! It is just shy of 800 yards of bulky alpaca and wool...spun for Debra who will be weaving a shawl on a triangle loom.  I am currently working on yarn for an Autumn-colored shawl...yellow, orange, red, brown, green and blue. It will be so pretty!!

And finally, here's a photo of me! I am wearing a crocheted scarf made a couple weeks ago...that is available for sale if interested!

Praying that everyone who reads this blog is blessed! Until next time...
